Overview
Acts 2 Southeast (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates a text messaging program to send announcements, event reminders, and ministry updates to people who have asked to receive them. This policy explains what information we collect through that program, how we use it, and how you can stop receiving messages at any time.
This policy covers our text messaging program specifically. It supplements the Terms of Use.
Information we collect
When you join our text messaging program, we collect:
- Your mobile phone number, which you provide by texting our keyword to our number.
- Your name, if you or a ministry leader provides it.
- The content and timestamps of messages you send to and receive from us.
- Delivery information from mobile carriers, such as whether a message was delivered or failed.
We do not collect location data, contacts, photos, or any other information from your device.
How we use your information
We use your information only to:
- Send you the announcements and updates you signed up to receive.
- Respond to messages you send us.
- Keep a record of your consent to receive messages, as required by telecommunications regulations.
- Honor your request to stop receiving messages.
We do not sell or share your mobile information
No mobile information will be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. This includes your phone number and any information you send us by text message.
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third parties for marketing purposes.
We share your phone number only with the messaging service providers who deliver messages on our behalf (currently Twilio and the mobile carriers that carry the message to your phone). These providers are permitted to use your information solely to deliver our messages and for no other purpose.
We may disclose information if we are legally required to do so, or if disclosure is necessary to protect someone's safety.
Message frequency and cost
Message frequency varies. You can expect roughly [N] messages per month, though this may increase around major events or in urgent situations such as a service cancellation.
Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge for these messages, but your mobile carrier may, depending on your plan.
How to stop receiving messages
Reply STOP to any message from us at any time. You will receive one confirmation message and then no further messages.
To rejoin later, text our keyword to our number again, or reply START.
For help, reply HELP or contact us using the details below.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
How long we keep your information
We keep your phone number and consent record for as long as you remain subscribed. If you opt out, we retain a record that you opted out — this is required so that we do not message you again, and so we can demonstrate compliance with messaging regulations. We do not use that record for any other purpose.
Children
Our text messaging program is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly enroll them. If you believe a child under 13 has been enrolled, contact us and we will remove them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version at this address and revise the “Last updated” date above.
